ARTIST'S BOOKS
Statement by the artist:
"I have been creating artists books since 1982. Experimenting with the book format was a natural outcome of my work in collage and printmaking. In my artist's books I express my ideas on memory, travel, language and nature. I use traditional structures as well as sculptural and innovative forms. I incorporate disparate materials such as handmade, oriental and painted papers, maps, objects, photographs, sheet music, script, drawings, book cloth, boxes, beads and string. These materials are fragile yet durable. Some of the books are totally abstract; however, memory—both visual and personal—is a significant element in the content of my work."
Except as noted, all works are unique artist's books.
